Right now, of the more than 5 million citizens of Wisconsin, there are 346,000 people who have reported substance abuse problems within the state during a one month period. But what’s even worse is that of these 346,000 Wisconsin citizens only 122,000 residents reported needing drug treatment. Unfortunately only a small percentage of those individuals actually went into a drug rehab program; around 20,000 per actual reports.

With its rural areas and beautiful landscape no one would guess that Wisconsin had become such a hotbed for drug abuse. There are several thousands of people in the state who are struggling with addictions to methamphetamine and cocaine and marijuana still remains the most widely available and abused drug throughout.

There have also been reports of an increase in the abuse of pharmaceutical drugs like hydrocodone, Vicoden, Ritalin and especially Oxy Contin which is a prescription pain medication similar to heroin.

The state of Wisconsin is in need of successful drug rehab that can help residents throughout the state.

The Narconon program has seen the devastation that addiction can cause to both family members and addicts if left untreated in Wisconsin and all over the northeast. Erica Catton, Director of Promotion for Narconon has worked with many families from Wisconsin whose lives were torn apart as a result of addiction. “Addiction can be handled but the longer it is let go, the worse it gets. I have seen many people who have lost everything as a result of their substance abuse problems because it negatively affects not only the addicted person, but everyone that is involved in that person’s life.”

Wisconsin citizens need to take action to curb drug abuse problems in the state by getting addicts into treatment that works.  If you know someone who needs to get into an effective drug rehab program contact Narconon today at 877-237-3307.
