Narconon Opens the Eyes of Addicts Concerning Children

It seems odd to think a drug addict would have any concern for children. However, as Narconon East U.S. explains, as the addict is freed from his addiction and put on his own road to a better life, the care and handling of children becomes an inevitable part of that equation.

Narconon has as a fundamental part of its drug rehabilitation program the restoring of moral values to addicts using the non-religious universally popular book, The Way to Happiness.  This book has been in use since 1981 and is a common sense guide to living.  Morals in The Way to Happiness are approached in a good sense fashion, eliminating the didactic approach to morals often associated with them, instead the book appeals to ones reason and good sense.

The Way to Happiness was written by one of the most prolific and widely read authors of our time, humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard . The booklet is in use in more than 130 countries around the world with over 70 million copies in circulation. The 21 precepts and subsequent text that explains each precept is studied by Narconon students after their addiction has already been addressed by nutrition, physical processes and various drills.

The results have been remarkable in its application. Oftentimes Narconon students may enter the program from broken families and with forlorn children of their own. Children whose lives would otherwise be subjected to neglect due to parental drug addiction or, if the State had intervened, a life of foster care. Studying The Way to Happiness precept four, "Love and Help Children", opens the eyes of such formerly neglectful parents and gently presents common sense data on children and raising them giving the former addict real direction on how to become a successful parent.

As it states in The Way to Happiness, "Today’s children will become tomorrow’s civilization".  Making this real to former addicts that do have children is vital to their child’s success and that of their own. To bring this home with even more reality The Way to Happiness has now been produced in a full length film on DVD using movie magic to present the full text of the book in a way that the viewer gains a complete understanding of each precept in an entertaining fashion.

Children are our most important resource. Abused and neglected by parents hooked on drugs or alcohol doesn’t just impact their own lives but the lives of our overall civilization. By instilling moral values and bringing addicts up to responsibility for their own lives and that of their children, a better future can result for not only them but ourselves as well.

As one Narconon graduate puts it, "I became happy and grateful that I was given the opportunity to do the Narconon Program and gain control of my life and be able to make decisions that would lead me down a road of happiness and success. Thank you Narconon for giving me my life back."

The Narconon program is designed to not only solve addiction but give the student the necessary tools to live a successful life. The Way to Happiness is one of those tools that produces stellar results.

Addict Learns To Repair Relationship With Son Thanks To Narconon Drug Rehab

One of the most important things for the future of our society is the positive upbringing of children. Children need the love and help of parents and family to really make it. And those children who have parents or family members who are struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction can have an especially difficult time.

Bobby N. is one person who has had personal experience with addiction and it’s affects on the family. He was addicted to drugs for more than 20 years before going into treatment. “[When I was using drugs] I would not see my son for months and when I did I was always using, although he did not know it at the time. Sometimes I would fall asleep after being up for days and he could not wake me up and would get scared, eventually he got to where he did want to come over,” he explains in a recent interview.

With the help of his family, Bobby enrolled in the Narconon program where he was finally able to handle his drug addiction for good. During his treatment he was able to do many courses that helped him to regain control of his life but there was one course in-particular that really helped him to get back onto the road to survival.

This course was called The Way To Happiness and in it he found some key information that aided him in repairing his relationship with his own child. This was one precept in the book called, “Love and Help Children.”  From the information in this book along with the rest of the Narconon program Bobby was able to mend his relationship with his son and even became a drug prevention lecturer to help other children.  “The precept, “Love and Help Children” is one the biggest reasons I do what I do now, because I wanted to make the world as safe as possible for my son,” he says.

The Way To Happiness is a common sense guide to moral living that has been used as a key part of Narconon drug treatment for decades. Narconon is a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that has been helping to rehabilitate addicts and rebuild families since 1966. The organization currently operates more than 150 centers in 50 different countries and achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanent recovery from substance abuse.

Today Bobby’s relationship with his son is stronger than ever.  “Today my son and I get along well and I can honestly say I we are very, very close almost as friend s but at the same time it is responsibility to set an example for him and be there for him as a guiding light,” says Bobby.

“When I went through the Narconon program the precepts on the way to happiness literally drove in the responsibilities I have to my son and family and I cannot imagine living the life insanity I once lived,” he adds.

For Many Addicts, Promiscuity Plays Major Role In Addiction

Nicole, a Narconon drug rehab graduate knows how promiscuity and addiction can go hand in hand. “[When I was on drugs] that was my everyday life,” she explains in a recent interview. “I was a prostitute walking streets of Detroit, I was raped and beaten and had guns point to my head. I was addicted to crack cocaine and heroin and using since I was 12 years old.”

And Nicole isn’t the only addict whose addiction caused her own morals to decline rapidly. In fact promiscuity has been directly related to drug and alcohol addiction for decades.  According to the government website on College Drinking Prevention , 400,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 had unprotected sex and while under the influence of alcohol more than 100,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 report having been too intoxicated to know if they consented to having sex.

Relationship problems continually arise with those abusing both alcohol drugs including domestic violence, infidelity, unwanted pregnancy and the spread of disease.

Narconon, a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment program, recognizes this as a major barrier to successful recovery and for many, and key underlying issue that adds to drug and alcohol abuse.

To help handle this, the drug rehab program uses educational life-skills methods that help addicts to adopt a common sense moral code to living. This part of the program is called "The Way To Happiness" and goes over precepts that help addicts to improve their own well-being and productivity in life. Part of this course enables clients to learn about having successful relationships, being faithful to their partner, and to safeguard their own health and well-being in these areas.

Recently a new video has been released that will be used in addition to the book that covers this precept that is now being used in the Narconon program to better help clients.

The Way To Happiness is a non-religious moral code for the 21st century. More than 70 million copies have been published and circulated in 90 languages and 130 nations. The course has been used as a part of the Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation program since for decades.

And for Narconon graduates like Nicole this technology has been lifesaving. “[Narconon] gave me my life back,” she says.  “I have what I was always searching for that I could never find. I now have that. I have happiness, the knowingness. I am able to do anything I want to do well. I can win at life and I am winning.”

Today Nicole has been free from drugs for several years and is happily married with children of her own. Her advice to those trapped in the cycle of addiction is not to lose hope no matter how many times you have fallen because she is living proof that drug rehabilitation does work to restore those morals that many feel have been lost for good.

Celebrity Addiction A Growing Tragedy

Currently, there is a major concern regarding our nation’s youth in becoming drug addicted. According to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy report on prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse among the Nation’s teens, young people age 12-17 abuse prescription drugs more than cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine combined.

Celebrity behavior dramatically impact our Nation’s youth. This impact can be positive or negative. However, celebrities from all walks have been reported as abusing one substance or another. This definitely can impact negatively.

We hear about celebrity addiction tragedies such as Howard Stern’s comedian Artie Lange’s battle with addition and resultantly repeatedly stabbing himself in a suicide attempt.  Casey Johnson recently died, although reports of exact cause is unclear, it is known she has battled addiction in the past and there is speculation that she may have gotten home after partying with drugs or alcohol and forgotten to take her Diabetes medicine which resulted in her death.

DJ AM died with 8 undigested OxyContin in his stomach and a ninth in his mouth.

There are also the countless celebrities who have checked into drug rehabs or battled substance abuse problems, including Steven Tyler, Rush Limbaugh, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Robert Downey Jr., and on and on.

Narconon handles addiction to all forms of substance abuse.  Narconon has the highest percentage of permanent recovery from addiction in the industry.  With addiction there are both physical and mental factors to address. Drug cravings can be a very real and insidious part of addiction. With prescription medicine it can and does appear to creep up on one as one is usually required to take a particular painkiller for a certain length of time. This time frame is often long enough to build up enough toxins from the drug to result in cravings for the substance.

The Narconon drug rehabilitation program handles drug cravings in a unique fashion by actually flushing out toxins and handling nutritional deficiencies caused by addiction using the New Life Detoxification program . If the toxins and deficiencies aren’t handled the physical cravings remain and makes addiction a constant battle. However, handled on the Narconon program, addicts experience new vitality and resurgence, no longer being held back by the physical factors of drug toxins built up in their bodies.

Drug addiction can be solved with the Narconon program. Celebrity addiction is simply addiction.  The stress of performance and job demands can often lead to seeking drugs or alcohol as a source of relief. However there are other solutions and Narconon students are educated on these as well and so can live successful drug-free lives.

Narconon Offers The Way to Happiness for Addicts

Everyone knows to some degree what happiness is but is there an actual road to happiness that one can follow to obtain it? Narconon includes a book in its drug rehabilitation program that gives a way for recovering addicts to obtain the long sought after happiness.

Narconon specializes in drug prevention and rehabilitation. Often a drug addict started on drugs or alcohol to obtain some sense of happiness.  Drugs give one a false sense of well being initially only to have serious consequences afterwards. As someone does drugs a second and third time each time they are trying to obtain that initial sense of well being. As addiction continues it begins to take more and more of the same drug to produce the desired effect. The body becomes more and more toxic and withdrawal symptoms experienced when the drug wears off become more and more intense. This is not the happiness the addict was seeking.

Drugs also lower ones threshold of what is right and wrong. Cravings for the drug can be so intense as to give the addict the feeling life itself depends on getting the drug again. Criminal acts and immoral actions can result. Stealing from parents, friends, and loved ones is not uncommon, all in an effort to get money to obtain more drug.

So here we have a picture of someone turning to drugs for happiness and it not being the case. So on what does happiness depend?  Money?  Fame?  Sex?

These are questions that most people ask themselves at one point or another. The media so often promotes becoming a celebrity as the goal of true happiness. Generations of teens and children look up to celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Steven Tyler, Amy Winehouse, David Hasselhoff of Knight Rider Fame, and countless others. All of these celebrities have battled drug addiction, prescription or otherwise.  Not so happy circumstances.  Yet these people had money and fame.

The Narconon program contains a book called The Way to Happiness as a vital part of its drug rehabilitation technology. What makes up happiness and how it is obtained is fully laid out in this commone sense guide to better living. The book was written by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard and has been published in more than 90 languages with over 70 million copies distributed in 130 nations.

The Way to Happiness is an unbiased and non-religious moral code that is based on common sense. It has been nationally recognized and commended in the U.S. by Members of Congress, Senators, 2 U.S. Presidents and Governors representing 40 U.S. States. As well it has been adopted and implemented in many counties around the world.

For the first time those previously addicted learn and find out how true happiness is obtained.  True happiness that benefits their survival and the survival of those around them.  Celebrity or not happiness can be obtained and it is the final book in the Narconon program giving Narconon students the true knowledge they need to obtain happiness and not look to false roads such as drug addiction to obtain it.

Pill Mills Major Contributor To Prescription Drug Epidemic

Narconon East US has been seeing an increasing number of people seeking help for prescription pain pill addiction.  This is not surprising when one takes into account the skyrocketing numbers of new pain clinics in South Florida that has allowed prescription drug trafficking to go unchecked creating many new prescription pain pill addicts.

The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy has reported South Florida Pill Mills are proliferating at an alarming rate. In 2007 there were only 4, in 2009 115 were in Broward County, Florida alone.

In Broward County Florida a Grand Jury was convened to investigate the huge increase in Pill Mills in South Florida. The top 25 dispensing doctors of Oxycodone in the Nation are located in Florida with 18 of them in Broward County. In 2008 all 50 of the top 50 doctors dispensing Oxycodone in the Nation were in Florida.  The result is floods of new prescription pain pill addicts.

A Pill Mill is a pain clinic that "treats patient for pain" by dispensing large quantities of controlled substances for non-medical purposes.  Typically they are rogue clinics putting out pills for cash. Patients seeking drugs go to these clinics faking illnesses and complaining of non-existent pain. After the doctor does an "exam" they then prescribe a 30 day cocktail of usually 4 different drugs. The patient then travels to another clinic and goes through the same "dance" obtaining more drugs.  This allows drug dealers and traffickers to obtain enormous quantities of drugs and clinics to profit handsomely and plausibly deny any wrong doing.

Narconon East US provides effective drug rehabilitation in various clinics throughout the East US with three locations in Florida. As people have bee contacting Narconon seeking help for drug addiction the "new addict" is the prescription drug addict.

Prescription drugs as just as harmful as any other drug when abused.  In fact, many prescription painkillers are extremely addictive and have serious side effects.  The Narconon procedure fortunately handles the prescription drug addict just as it does the Heroin addict, however the unfortunate part is that legally operating clinics are the new source of addicts in our nation.

The Grand Jury in Broward County points out Florida was delinquent in  enacting legislation authorizing a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. 38 States had enacted such legislation and Florida was the largest State that had not despite it also having the top 50 of the nations top dispensing doctors of pain pills.  This of course allowed Florida to be a safe haven for drug traffickers and thus they have flocked to Florida making Florida a High Intensity Drug Trafficking area.

Finally in July 2009 Florida enacted legislation, however, it doesn’t go into effect until December 2010. Meanwhile more and more addicts are formed.  Education about prescription drugs and their potential for abuse is essential.

Narconon East US offers drug prevention, education and drug rehabilitation services. If you would like more information on prescription drug abuse or the Narconon program contact Narconon at 877-237-3307.

Narconon Steps In To Help Current Abuse Trends

The National Institute on Drug Abuse Highlights and Executive  Summary for 2009 shows unhealthy trends in increasing drug abuse trends, however, Narconon has stepped into the forefront by providing effective drug-free solutions.

As 2009 comes to a close the trends in drug abuse paint a bleak picture.  Probably the most startling trend increase is prescription painkiller addiction , not just in overdoses and abuse but also being more prevalent on the streets.  Marijuana was also reported as high and stable for most areas. In the nation’s capital higher percentages of juvenile arrestees tested positive for Marijuana than for any other drug.

With drugs so prevalent and available in our society Narconon has recently issued a 30 second holiday public service announcement encouraging Americans to get those who need treatment help before it is too late.

With rising drug abuse trends and no signs of this epidemic stopping, Americans need now more than ever effective drug prevention and rehabilitation. Narconon provides not only effective drug and alcohol rehabilitation but drug education lecture in schools, businesses and community groups to prevent youth from ever turning to drugs to begin with.

Wherever Narconon Drug education goes in drug abuse trends reduce among the area. The truth is once youth or adults are truly educated on the truth about drugs and the ramifications of even a single drug trip, the desire to try drugs plummets.

When it comes to rehabilitating drug addicts Narconon has proven highly effective.  With normal drug rehabilitation having a success rate of about 16%, Narconon is in the vanguard with an over 70% success rate that continues year after year.  Narconon graduates continue to live drug free lives.

2010 brings forward new hopes and dreams to be achieved. As 2009 closes we can leave the errors of the past and set a new course for the future. America does not have to continue its rising trends of drug abuse. Narconon offers the solution for both those who have fallen into the trap of drug or alcohol addiction and those who are about to start on that treacherous self-destructive road down of trying illegal drugs for the first time.

If you would like more information on Narconon’s drug education, prevention and rehabilitation programs or would like to schedule a lecture in your own school or community group contact Narconon at 877-237-3307.

Narconon Drug Rehabilitation Program Restores Morals to Drug Addicts

Common sense based moral code is included in Narconon program giving former drug addicts back their sense of morality and self-respect.

Drug abuse doesn’t just affect the one addicted. Whether legal or illegal drugs are used the resultant crime and immorality from substance abuse are legend. On an social level, drugs and alcohol are used and advertised to release one’s inhibitions.  These so-called freed inhibitions often result in immoral acts. As addiction progresses, this often leads to more serious crime and destructive acts.

The cost of the broader effects of drug addiction in terms of law enforcement efforts, taxpayer expense and medical costs greatly impresses upon society the urgent need for morality as a part of drug rehabilitation.

Drugs and crime go hand in hand.  So it is only logical then that learning moral values be a essential part of drug rehabilitation.

The Narconon drug rehabilitation program includes a book called The Way to Happiness, a non-religious moral code based on common sense as part of its program. This book was written by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard and has been translated into 90 languages worldwide and more than 70 million copies have been distributed. The book is widely used among government, community groups, businesses and schools worldwide.

Recently a new video was produced covering the 21 moral precepts of the Way to Happiness. The film is being used to accompany the book in the Narconon program and has the added benefit of covering in picture form each of the written principles thus further bringing them home to recovering addicts.

With this addition to the Narconon program its graduates not only stay off drugs but also stay out of legal trouble following the Narconon program as they now understand what it means to live morally and how real happiness doesn’t lie in immoral acts.

Narconon students address all the mental and physical aspects of drug addiction. They are given the knowledge to learn new skills and abilities they previously did not have. The Way to Happiness is just one example of how Narconon addresses the larger societal issues of drug addiction and gives the former addict the skills necessary to live a productive and successful life free from drugs and crime.

Narconon Continues Expansion In Eastern U.S.

Drug addiction has affected the lives of many in 2009 with the increase in prescription drug addiction as well as the economic recession upwards of 23 million have gone the route of drug addiction according to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy . However, in 2009 a bright spot in the field of drug addiction has shown through.

Narconon East US has had a very successful year in drug prevention, education and rehabilitation.  In terms of drug prevention.  The way to stop drug addiction before it starts is through effective drug education. Narconon, which was established in 1966, delivers drug prevention and education lectures to schools, community groups and businesses.  As research statistic show that many new drug users begin at the age of 12,  Narconon focuses its lectures on school aged children and over 3.5 million children have been reached .

Narconon lectures are unique from ordinary drug education talks because the drug prevention specialists reach the children at their reality level and get them participating as well as learning about the dangers of drugs. In New England the Narconon Drug Education and Prevention group reached over 2500 people in 2009 in the New England area informing them on the dangers of drugs and steering them into leading drug-free lives.

As many in our nation have already traveled the road of drug addiction, it is important to have a program that successfully rehabilitates a drug addict into being a productive, ethical member of society.  Narconon drug rehabilitation does just that with several exact steps within the overall program handling both the physical and mental aspects of addiction.

The Narconon program has been widely delivered throughout the Eastern United States in 2009 at 6 different facilities ranging from Michigan in the north to Georgia and Florida in the south and Louisiana to the west.  These Narconon centers have effectively freed over 240 people from drug addiction in 2009 and set them on the road to living happy, successful, drug-free lives.

Narconon graduates rave about the program as this graduate states, " I came into Narconon a broke down person who had no control or power over choice… It’s not just drugs that got handled, it was my life. Instead of doubting myself I know I can now achieve all my goals. This was the best decision I have ever made. I have my life back!"

Another Narconon graduate in 2009 says, "I wanted to detox from cocaine… I signed up for the [Narconon] program and was informed that there was hard work involved. I saw remarkable results in the students that were graduating and was inspired. The course work is where the biggest gains for me were made. I found out about the whys and wherefores of human behavior especially relating to basic life skills…I am honored and very grateful for the new life that I have received.”

The Narconon program has been successfully saving lives since 1966 and has more than 120 centers in 50 different countries. Narconon has been delivering successful drug rehabilitation and education services in the eastern United States for 10 years and will continue its expansion this coming year and for many years to come.

If you know of someone struggling with addiction or would like more information on the Narconon program or on drug education, prevention and rehabilitation contact Narconon East U.S. at 877-237-3307.
