Drug Rehab Utilizes Unique Method For Handling Addicts

Narconon, a non-profit organization for drug rehabilitation and education, offers drug addicts a new direction in life. The Narconon program teaches a non-religious universal moral code called The Way to Happiness as part of its treatment program.

One commonly overlooked moral from The Way to Happiness is, "Support a Government Designed and Run for All the People".  This key principle teaches, not politics, but understanding of what happens when government is conducted for self-interested individuals and one’s personal moral responsibility.

The Way to Happiness was written by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard . Since its publication in 1981 it has been translated into more than 90 languages in 130 countries with over 70 million copies distributed.  This book has been officially recognized and commended by Members of Congress, governors and senators of 40 U.S. States, and 2 U.S. Presidents.  It also has been adopted and implemented in governments around the world as well as by businesses, private organizations, schools and the Narconon program.

Recognition of one’s rights and responsibility for the society around one is a key part of full rehabilitation of one addicted to drugs.  It is common for Narconon graduates to go out into society and form up or join in some humanitarian endeavor. Awakening social consciousness through educating drug addicts with The Way to Happiness has proven successful in them going on to lead successful drug-free lives.

Taking one’s share of responsibility for one’s government and the people who run it is a part in becoming a productive member of society. There are legal and morals ways to bring about the change one wants to achieve in a society.  Narconon teaches students the guidelines to leading moral lives.

The Way to Happiness has also been newly released as a full-length film on DVD.  This communicates the text of The Way to Happiness as a film, making understanding that much richer.

Doing The Right Thing Key Component To Handling Addiction

Morality is a subject which has ceased to be taught in U.S schools.  Few parents also endeavor to teach morality at home. The result can be seen at every turn with a rising criminal population and 23 million Americans in need of drug rehabilitation according to the White House Office of Drug Control Policy .

Narconon a non-profit organization that handles drug and alcohol addiction through successful rehabilitation includes universal moral principles as part of it’s overall drug rehabilitation program. They have observed the obvious need for morals among rehabilitating addicts. Most people who have become addicted to drugs were never taught basic moral principles so they really understood them.

One of the principles Narconon teaches is "Don’t do anything Illegal".  This may seem blatantly obvious to some, however, as one looks around and even at one’s own life one can see there may be times one has done illegal things. The truth is theses tend to accumulate and eventually, if one doesn’t otherwise correct them, could cause one to fail in life.

The book containing this common sense moral principle and 20 others used on the Narconon program is The Way to Happiness. This book has been published in over 90 languages and 70 million copies have been distributed. Its author, America humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard , wrote it in the 1981 after witnessing the intense moral decline of the society in the 1970s. This moral code is brilliantly written in that it applies to all races and religions as its principles are entirely based on common sense and are not religious.  In fact, 130 nations have accepted it and it has been commended by 2 U.S Presidents, Congressmen, governors and various governments.

Incorporating such fundamental moral principles into the Narconon drug rehabilitation program points former addicts into the direction of being able to lead truly successful drug-free lives.

Life as an addict is anything but moral. Lying, cheating, promiscuity and illegal acts are part and parcel to addiction.  When one is addicted the drug cravings can be so intense as one’s very survival itself seems dependant on obtaining and taking drugs, at whatever cost.  With such intense physical desire driving one, an addict is liable to do anything to relieve the negative sensations.

As the Narconon program addresses both the physical and mental aspect of cravings and drug addiction, the former addict can now in an uninfluenced manner study The Way to Happiness and benefit from it. There is even a prerequisite course on the Narconon program that teaches the addict how to study to ensure he does duplicate the material.

The Way to Happiness has also recently been released as a full length film on DVD bringing the written principles into movie format. By Narconon using The Way to Happiness former addicts are given every chance to live successful drug free lives.

Narconon Florida Teaches Recovering Addicts How to Learn

To someone who has been embroiled in the drug scene and addiction has become a way of life, the idea of learning new things may have long since been forgotten as a possibility.  Fortunately, the Narconon program takes this into account in helping addicts to overcome drug addiction.

The Narconon program in Florida recently celebrated its 11th Anniversary in saving lives from drug addiction. They are an out-patient facility and deliver the Narconon program. One key step after detoxifying the addict’s body from drugs and toxins in their sauna program, is the Learning Improvement Course.

The Learning Improvement Course is based on the works of American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard .  The principles Mr. Hubbard developed in the area of learning and study are covered on this course. These remarkable breakthroughs are taught to Narconon students and the results speak for themselves.

Chris recently completed the Learning Improvement Course at Narconon Florida and had this to say, "The Learning Improvement Course was one of the most useful courses I have taken in my 39 year life…This course opened my eyes to why I never remembered information or had to constantly re-read information just to get something out of it."

Another student, Lindsay, comments. "The things I learned in the Learning Improvement Course makes me understand why I felt so terrible in school all of those years.  I only wish I could have known this technology sooner - but it’s time now to apply it all - I’m hungry for knowledge and can’t wait to learn more.  I’m no longer intimidated by bookwork or afraid of anything that has to do with studying."

The gains from the Narconon program are greatly enhanced by the Learning Improvement Course, for when students know how to study they can then go on and succeed at learning the rest of the information they need to be able to truly live a drug-free life.

The Narconon program addresses all of the facets of drug addiction, and not being able to properly study is just one of the barriers to overcoming addiction that most addicts face.  Fortunately, this is taken into account in the Narconon program and is handled early on after the prime factors of physical addiction are addressed.

Narconon Ensures Clients Understand Harm In Illegal Acts

The Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation and education program points out the original Narconon program was first delivered in a prison 44 years ago and most of these clients went on to not only lead drug-free but also crime-free lives. At this time Narconon used effective communication drills to help addicts recover from their addiction.

Today the Narconon program is a more comprehensive program handling both the mental and physical aspects of addiction.

The book The Way to Happiness, written by American author and humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard , was one book incorporated into the Narconon program. This book represented a milestone in humanitarian efforts as this was the first such book that covered morals solely from the point of view of common sense rather than religious teachings. For example one of the precepts in the book is "Don’t do anything illegal." This is a universal principle, however, the book itself explains clearly why there are laws and why it is important to follow them and the results of not doing so even if one is not found out.

The Narconon program has the clients on their program not only read the entire book, The Way to Happiness, but also they do various written exercises and drills to relate the precepts to their own lives to make it real to the student how the precepts can be applied.

It is common knowledge that crime and drug addiction go hand in hand. On drugs or to obtain drugs, it is quite common for an addict to resort to some illegal act.  The final result of this is loss of personal pride and oftentimes punishment from the courts or state. Knowing this Narconon ensures that the students on the Narconon drug rehab program do discover these principles during Narconon program, which is covered on The Way to Happiness course.

To further bring home the principles of The Way to Happiness to students, Narconon centers have started to implement showing of the newly created full-length movie on DVD of The Way to Happiness. This movie details chapter by chapter the entire Way to Happiness, further increasing the reality of the principles of the book which has already been distributed in 90 languages and to over 70 million people.

By Narconon clients knowing and applying the moral principles they learn from The Way to Happiness, they go on to lead successful productive lives not only drug-free but also free from committing illegal acts.

If you or someone you know would like more information on the Narconon program or on The Way to Happiness contact Narconon at 877-237-3307.
